Metro 2033 Redux and Last Light Nintendo Switch Review
Overview
Metro 2033 and Last Light are both amazing first-person shooter games for the Switch. For the first half of this review I will be covering 2033. However, both of these games do come in a bundle, or you can buy them separately. The Metro series is for people who are unfamiliar with it and is based on the books by Dmitry Glukhovsky. In Metro 2033 redux, it comes with all the DLC; the same is true for Last Light. In both games, you play as the main character, Artyom. Arytom in 2033 fights his way through the metro tunnels to reach his objective. The game Metro 2033 is $20, but right now it's on sale, the same with Last Light. In Metro 2033 there are two distinct endings: a good ending and a bad ending. Which ending you get depends on your actions throughout the game, such as killing less important characters. Or going for a more evil run, sparing no one.
Story
In the prologue of Metro 2033, you meet Hunter, who is fighting the dark ones, which are mysterious creatures attacking the Moscow stations. There is also a war going on between the Stalinists and the Nazis. Hunter then asks Artyom to travel to Polis, which is the capital of the Metro. On the next day Artyom hitches a ride to Riga on a caravan to start his journey. In Metro: Last Light, the story takes place a year after the ending of 2033. Metro: Last Light has returning characters such as Kahn, who tells Artyom that one single surviving Dark One has survived the missiles from the ending of 2033. So then Arytom sets off on another adventure to find this missing dark one.
Gameplay and controls
The gameplay of the Metro games is well done; you can change out your weapons when you see shopkeepers in the stations of the Metro. Bullets are used as currency in the games where you can buy air filters, pipe bombs, and first aid kits and sights to customize your guns. The controls are very well done for a small studio; sometimes aiming can feel fast and fluid, like Call of Duty. Sometimes in the game you go up to the surface, so you have to wear an air mask. While up on the surface, make sure you have plenty of filters so you don't die. There are multiple ways to get through missions in these games: either go in stealthily or go in guns blazing. The DLC of Metro Last Light brings a lot to the table; in the developer pack it has a combat simulator, a museum, and a single-player mission.

Final Thoughts
Overall I would say Metro 2033 and Last Light are well-done action shooter games. With lots of details put into their worlds, such as the enemies, NPCs, and world-building. Overall if I had to rate these two games, I would give them a 7/10.
