2025 My thoughts on the Nintendo Switch 2!

Hi everyone, I know it has been a while since I uploaded a Nintendo Switch game review. I am trying to work on this blog again and get back into the rhythm of it. However, today I wanted to talk about the Nintendo Switch 2 and why I think it is a waste of money right now. Back when it was announced on January 16th, 2025, I was excited at first; however, that soon turned into dread upon hearing more details. Such as the price right now, which is $449, which is crazy to think about. When the Nintendo Switch OLED came out, it was priced at $350, which is a lot cheaper; however, it is not in 4k.  The second main complaint I have about the Nintendo Switch 2 is that a few games are doing the game key card idea, which in my opinion is so brain dead. Why Nintendo is going down this road is beyond me. I would also like to say that Nintendo is starting to price their games at different prices, which is not helpful for consumers. Such as Donkey Kong Bananza, which costs $70, not to ment...

Splatoon 3 is very fun: A Nintendo Switch Review

 Overview

Splatoon 3 is a vast improvement over the sequel to Splatoon 2, in my opinion. There is so much new stuff, like new weapons, maps, and a new hub; you can even play a tcg card game. Overall, the story is interesting too, with a new villain. Some returning characters are back in the story, the same with its new setting, which is called Alterna. Which is an underground Antarctic frozen wasteland with a huge Rocketship and research facilities. The music when battling in multiplayer matches is a good improvement too there is also new specials when you fill up your ink meter. Such as the Crab tank, a dolphin you can ride, and then it will explode! There are also returning specials from Splatoon 1 and Splatoon 2, and the egg hunt comes back too, where you still have to fill the quota. Make sure you check in at the general store once in a while during the season to get your rewards!

Gameplay and Controls

Overall, the gameplay is very fun, and the movement when in squid or kid form is snappy. I would also like to point out that in the gameplay video I was using the bow. For this weapon you can shoot from the sides, or jump up and shoot it like that too. I then changed from the bow to one of the many blasters you can get from Sheldon as well. The controls are smooth when moving around in squid form; I feel like it is a vast improvement from the second game.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think Splatoon 3 is a good kid-friendly shooting game for the Nintendo Switch. It constantly gets updates with new seasons and gear; they even added a health bar now. If I had to give this game a rating, I would rate it a 8/10 there are some flaws. A few flaws are that it is hard to find matches from other game modes other than turf war. One other flaw is that there seems to be skill-based matchmaking in all game modes as well. So, you might get destroyed in one match, but in the next few matches you'll be paired with some bad teammates. Other than those flaws, I highly recommend the game Splatoon 3 for the Nintendo Switch.
