2025 My thoughts on the Nintendo Switch 2!

 Hi everyone, I know it has been a while since I uploaded a Nintendo Switch game review. I am trying to work on this blog again and get back into the rhythm of it. However, today I wanted to talk about the Nintendo Switch 2 and why I think it is a waste of money right now. Back when it was announced on January 16th, 2025, I was excited at first; however, that soon turned into dread upon hearing more details. Such as the price right now, which is $449, which is crazy to think about. When the Nintendo Switch OLED came out, it was priced at $350, which is a lot cheaper; however, it is not in 4k.  The second main complaint I have about the Nintendo Switch 2 is that a few games are doing the game key card idea, which in my opinion is so brain dead. Why Nintendo is going down this road is beyond me. I would also like to say that Nintendo is starting to price their games at different prices, which is not helpful for consumers. Astral Chain Nintendo Switch Review


 Astral Chain is a JRPG made for the Nintendo Switch; the release date was August 30, 2019. The game was directed by Takahisa Taura, who previously was the lead game designer for Nier: Automata. The game is about humanity which is held in a big city called the Ark. . Where they are safe from the interdimensional creatures called aberrations, which invaded the planet. You play as one of two new recruits that are twins. In the game you get your own chimaeras called legions. The Legions can help you by digging up items or getting through toxic gas.

There are a lot of things to do in this game, such as clearing cases, helping civilians, and fighting the aberrations. You can also customise your character by hair colour, eye colour, and their gear. In Astral Chain you can get different Legions, such as a beast Legion or a sword Legion. There are many more legions when you progress through the game. You can also upgrade your gun and X-baton by using your money at the HQ.  How much does the game cost? Well, since it is a Nintendo exclusive, it will still be around $60.


Here are the pros and cons of the game.


  • Pro: The game has a wonderful cyberpunk art style.                                      
  • Pro: The game has more cases to complete when you beat the story.                                               
  • Pro: There are amazing graphics and lighting in this game. 
  • Con: The game can be a little boring with the story at times.
  • Con: Astral Chain can be pretty easy to beat if you speed through the cases.

Overall I would rate this game a 7.5/10. I would recommend this game to people who like hack-and-slash games or good JRPG storytellinggames.
