2025 My thoughts on the Nintendo Switch 2!

Hi everyone, I know it has been a while since I uploaded a Nintendo Switch game review. I am trying to work on this blog again and get back into the rhythm of it. However, today I wanted to talk about the Nintendo Switch 2 and why I think it is a waste of money right now. Back when it was announced on January 16th, 2025, I was excited at first; however, that soon turned into dread upon hearing more details. Such as the price right now, which is $449, which is crazy to think about. When the Nintendo Switch OLED came out, it was priced at $350, which is a lot cheaper; however, it is not in 4k.  The second main complaint I have about the Nintendo Switch 2 is that a few games are doing the game key card idea, which in my opinion is so brain dead. Why Nintendo is going down this road is beyond me. I would also like to say that Nintendo is starting to price their games at different prices, which is not helpful for consumers. Such as Donkey Kong Bananza, which costs $70, not to ment...

Switch Game Sales My take

So far the Nintendo Switch has been selling games that are making millions of dollars. A few notable examples are Animal Crossing, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Today in this article I wanted to touch base and comment my opinion on some of these game sales.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is approaching its one-year anniversary. It has sold over 31 million copies worldwide. While the previous entry has only sold 12.82 million copies, which was Animal Crossing: New Leaf. While I think this is amazing for New Horizons, the growth will slow down, and people won't be playing as much.
Nintendo have already said that they will update the game for around 3 years. While New Leaf has many more features to offer than New Horizons. However, what I find interesting is that Nintendo has been pumping out small and medium updates for the game. Which, in my opinion, is a good way to make the game last, while New Leaf had really only had one major update.

Right now, so far, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold over around 33 million copies. While this is amazing and really good for the Nintendo Switch, I have been wondering when Mario Kart 9 or the next Mario Kart game will be coming. While Mario Kart Wii has sold 37.38 million copies, that is more than Mario Kart DS and the original Super Mario Kart.

Now on to Smash Bros Ultimate: it has sold over 22 million copies. Which is insane; the most units the Wii for Smash Bros. Brawl has sold is 13 million copies. Now will Smash Bros Ultimate have a sequel? I would say yes and no. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sold very well, but to make a sequel would be very hard. Not only that, but Ultimate has around 80+ characters and over 800 licensed songs from other games and developers. I would say it will take some time to live up to the expectations of Ultimate.
