2025 My thoughts on the Nintendo Switch 2!

Hi everyone, I know it has been a while since I uploaded a Nintendo Switch game review. I am trying to work on this blog again and get back into the rhythm of it. However, today I wanted to talk about the Nintendo Switch 2 and why I think it is a waste of money right now. Back when it was announced on January 16th, 2025, I was excited at first; however, that soon turned into dread upon hearing more details. Such as the price right now, which is $449, which is crazy to think about. When the Nintendo Switch OLED came out, it was priced at $350, which is a lot cheaper; however, it is not in 4k.  The second main complaint I have about the Nintendo Switch 2 is that a few games are doing the game key card idea, which in my opinion is so brain dead. Why Nintendo is going down this road is beyond me. I would also like to say that Nintendo is starting to price their games at different prices, which is not helpful for consumers. Such as Donkey Kong Bananza, which costs $70, not to ment...

Resident Evil 4 Nintendo Switch Review

 Overview

Resident Evil 4 is one of my favorite Resident evil games of all time, right behind 7 and village which is number 8. The setting takes place in the countryside of Spain, where you play the main character, Leon Kennedy, again. In this game, however, it focuses more so on action and explosive gunplay than stealth and slow-paced horror. I decided to replay the original since there was a remake that came out 2 years ago in 2023. Now there are obviously key differences between the remake and the og version such as dialogue, the dlc seperate ways even new cutscenes too. Resident evil 4 is also playable on a lot of different consoles, such as the Wii, Switch, Xbox, Gamecube, and even PC. Heck, you can even play the game on ios or even the Zeboo.

Gameplay and controls

The gameplay this time around is alright, not as fast for aiming or turning around as the newest resident evil games. Still sometimes feels tricky to turn around fast and shoot at the bad guys. Sometimes when you stun enemies, you can do leon's signature move, which is to kick them, which is fun. However, you cannot do this for all enemies, such as bigger guys or even some bosses. There are many weapons you can unlock and use throughout the story, such as rifles, machine guns, and powerful pistols. You can also tune up your weapons with the money you picked up throughout the game. Eventually you get to Ashley, whom you have to protect at all costs. Sometimes the cult members will try to pick her up and run off with her. Other times you have to make sure she is out of the line so you can fire your weapons.

I remember first watching gameplay footage on Youtube of this game; I was astonished at how cool and badass Leon looked. I was even surprised with the graphics; this game originally came out for the Gamecube. The chainsaw bad guy is by far the most menacing in any video game ever, in my opinion.

Story

The story of Resident evil 4 takes place 6 years after the incident in Raccoon City. Leon has to rescue the U.S. president's daughter, who has been kidnapped by a cult in Spain. Leon fights through waves of the villagers who have been turned by the cult, and he runs into Ada Wong throughout the story. However, the cult is also planning something much bigger near the end of the story. There is also the Seperate ways dlc where you play as Ada Wong instead of Leon.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Resident Evil 4, I would say, holds up really well in 2026. There are lots more fun details and gameplay to be had than in previous titles. It is also cheap to buy in digital shops; however, the Gamecube disc might go for a little bit more. There are even a few unlockables if you run through the game on max difficulty. I would rate this Resident evil game in the franchise an 8/10 with a good main villain. As well as an amazing soundtrack, good gunplay, and a well-written story.
